Know exactly what you own.
We offer two routes: a managed Website Plan, and a one-off website you own. This page explains, in plain terms, who owns the domain, content, data, code and hosting on each — and what happens if you leave — so you can choose with confidence.
- Taken straight from our terms
- No surprises later
- Your content is always yours

Two ways to a professional website
Both routes give you a professionally built website. The difference is how it is owned, hosted and looked after.
| Who owns what | Managed Website PlanWe handle the technical side |
One-off websiteYours, once it is paid for |
|---|---|---|
| Domain | A domain you already own stays yours. A domain included with your plan is registered to us for your use, and can be transferred to you under a separate agreement. | Agreed in your project quote |
| Website content | Yours — the text, images, documents and logo you supply | Yours |
| Customer data | Yours — enquiries, form submissions and orders | Yours |
| Brand | Yours — your trade marks and business name | Yours |
| Design and code | Ours. A plan is a service: no source code or server access is included | Yours once paid in full, where the quote says so |
| Our platform and reusable tools | Ours | Ours, unless we license them to you in writing |
| Hosting | Included and managed by us | Your choice — we can host it, or you host it elsewhere |
| Maintenance and updates | Included | Optional, by separate arrangement |
| Support | Included, with response targets by plan | Optional, by separate arrangement |
| If you leave | Free export of your content and data. A buy-out, static copy or migration can be quoted | Nothing to hand back — it is already yours |
The managed column summarises the Website Plan Terms; the one-off column summarises our general Terms of Service and your project quote. Where this page and the terms differ, the terms apply.
What happens if you cancel?
Circumstances change. Here is exactly what to expect on each route.
Managed Website Plan
- Ask to cancel at any time, from your portal or by contacting us, with 31 days' notice.
- Your site stays up and supported until the date we agree.
- You can have a free export of your content, images and business data.
- Your mailboxes stay accessible for 14 days after the end date so you can move your email.
- On the end date the website can be taken offline. Its files are kept for 60 days and then permanently deleted — ask about a buy-out or migration before then.
One-off website
- Once it is paid for, the custom work agreed in your quote is yours.
- Your website keeps working wherever it is hosted.
- Keep it hosted with us, or move it to any provider.
- No ongoing fees unless you choose hosting or support from us.
What you always keep
Whichever route you choose, these stay yours.
Your content
The words, images, video, documents and logo you give us.
Your business data
Enquiries, form submissions, customer lists and orders.
Your brand
Your trade marks and your business name.
Your email
Your mailboxes and everything in them. We do not read your mail.
A domain you own
If the domain was yours before, it is yours throughout.
Free exports
Getting your own content and data back never costs anything.
Managed does not mean trapped.
Your content and data are always yours, getting them back is always free, and you can ask to cancel at any time with 31 days' notice. If you want to keep the website itself, we can quote for a buy-out or a migration.
What a managed plan does not give you is the website's code or server access — that is part of how the plan is priced, and we would rather you knew it now than found out later.
Ownership questions, answered.
Do I own my domain name?
If you already own it, yes — we simply point it at the website we host, and it goes with you if you leave.
If the domain is included with your Website Plan, we register it and hold it for your use while the plan is active, and renew it as part of your subscription. You can ask us to transfer it to you under a separate agreement, paying the registry and transfer fees we tell you about first.
Can I get a copy of my content?
Yes, at any time, free of charge — the text, images and branding you supplied, and an export of your enquiries and business data in a common format.
What if I want to move to another provider?
Your content, data and email can always come with you. On a managed plan the website itself does not transfer automatically, but you can ask us for a buy-out, static copy or migration quote where it is technically possible. On a one-off website, it is already yours to move.
Do you provide the source code for managed websites?
No. A Website Plan is a service: we own the design, code and hosting environment, and you do not get source code or server access. If owning the code matters to you, a one-off website is the better fit.
Is there a minimum contract period?
There is no fixed term beyond the monthly or annual billing period you choose, but there is a notice period: cancellation takes effect at least 31 days after you ask, and your final invoice covers only the days up to that date. Payments already made are not refunded for a partly used period, except where the law requires it.
What happens to my email when I leave?
Your mailboxes stay accessible for 14 days after your plan ends so you can retrieve or migrate your email, and mailbox data is normally deleted within 30 days. We can help with migration; if it involves real work, we quote first.
Choose your path.
The same standard of work. Different levels of ownership and flexibility.
